Mayor Tracy Honea is currently serving his third term as Mayor of Albertville, Alabama, and is a lifelong resident, former longtime small business owner of a second-generation family business, real estate entrepreneur, husband, father of three (the late Nick Honea, Julie McGowan (Connor), and Riley Honea (Julia), and grandfather of three (Milla, Darcie, and the late Canyon McGowan).

He is a 1981 graduate of Albertville High School, later going on to study at Snead State Community College. After raising his now grown children in Albertville, he felt a deep sense of responsibility to be part of ensuring young families, today, have great reason to choose Albertville as the place they want to raise their own families.

Elected in 2012, the focus of Mayor Honea’s priorities has been aggressive economic and community development, and quality of life enhancement for the people of Albertville. His administration spearheaded the creation of a major sports, entertainment, and recreation park, Sand Mountain Park & Amphitheater— resulting in nearly a million square feet of new retail, restaurant, hotel, and entertainment space since its opening in 2020. Many of Albertville's major industries have also seen multiple expansions during his administration’s tenure.

Additionally, Mayor Honea has led city employees to receive raises of approximately 36% over the last five years (as of 2025). His administration has worked tirelessly to introduce innovative benefits such as city-paid primary care, fitness memberships, and mental health resources in addition to standard city sponsored local government health insurance and RSA retirement benefits.

A servant leader, he has served on various local boards and commissions over the decades, including the Albertville Board of Education, Albertville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, United Way of Marshall County Board of Directors, the Albertville Commercial Development Authority, and, currently, the Marshall County Gas Board.
