The mission of Albertville Animal Control is to protect the health and safety of our residents and to protect animals and promote their humane treatment. The Animal Control Officer captures stray animals, assists in pet/owner recovery, resolves neighbor disputes over animals, assists the elderly and physically-challenged with animal concerns, advises and teaches residents of their responsibility as pet owners, advises non-pet owners of their rights, and assists in the removal of nuisance wildlife. (Nuisance wildlife is defined as wildlife that, presents or is about to present, a threat to the health or safety of the community by means of disease transmission or direct attacks.)

If you have a dog that is required by city ordinance to be registered, please complete and submit the Dangerous Animal Permit Application. For a copy of the ordinance, click here


To report a stray animal or vicious dog, please contact the Albertville Police Department at 256-878-1212. The Animal Control Officer is dispatched from APD and works 8 a.m. - 5 p.m, Monday - Friday. If you have an emergency after Animal Control operating hours, please contact the Albertville Police Department and explain your emergency.
