The City of Albertville is taking the following precautionary methods in light of the COVID-19 situation: Spring recreation sports will be delayed until at least April 6th. Sand Mountain Park staff will be available to answer any questions for membership, program sport participants, and coaches via 256-891-8240, and will remain open to the public, for now, at the Armory. Albertville Public Library and Albertville Senior Center will be closed through at least April 6th. Per Alabama Supreme Court, Albertville Municipal Court will be cancelled March 17th through April 16th. Please contact the Magistrate's Office for your updated court date at 256-891-8291. The Magistrate's office will be closed to the public, but will take payments and handle business through their drive-up window. The Magistrate's lobby will only remain open for warrants. Albertville welcomes Planet Fitness

The Reporter | Nickie Simpson Planet Fitness is planning to open a new location in late February at 5850 U.S. Highway 431 in Albertville, according to Planet Fitness Midwest Chief Operating Officer Mike Hamilton.

“[This] new location will offer non-intimidating judgment free zone, extremely low prices, free fitness training included in all monthly memberships and more,” Hamilton said. “Planet Fitness is one of the largest and fastest growing fitness centers in the U.S., and [it’s the] home of the judgment free zone.”

Albertville Economic Development Director Mike Price said the City of Albertville welcomes Planet Fitness to the community.

 "We are really excited that Planet Fitness has chosen to locate in Albertville,” Price said. “Planet Fitness is known throughout the fitness industry for their customer service and friendly atmosphere. They will be a great addition to the city and the area as a whole."

Hamilton said the 25,000 square-foot, Albertville club would offer state of the art cardio machines, strength equipment, fully equipped locker rooms with day lockers and showers, individual TVs in front of the 120 cardio units, massage chairs, hydro massage beds and loungers, 12-high end tanning beds, a Total Body Enhancement Booth and much more.

“We’re excited to be able to offer the judgment free experience in Albertville where residents can break a sweat for just $10 a month,” Hamilton said. “Membership includes a variety of other benefits, including free small group fitness training by a certified trainer.”

 Hamilton said the club offers a “PF Black membership,” which is $22.99 a month, includes additional amenities such as the ability to bring a guest every day at no additional charge, access to more than 1,900 Planet Fitness locations, as well as access to massage beds and chairs and tanning, among other benefits.

According to Hamilton, a pre-sale office is now open on site Monday - Friday 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. He said there’s a special pre-grand opening pricing of a $1 startup fee and $10 a month available for a limited time while the pre-sale is going on.
