Runway & Weather System

Thomas J. Brumlik Field offers many amenities. With a runway of 6,117 feet, 100 feet wide and RNAV Instrument Approach Procedures, Albertville Regional Airport can accommodate business and private jets, as well as government and military aircraft. In 2019, airport improvement projects at Albertville Regional Airport funded by the FAA & State Aeronautics Bureau totaled $651,900 and included new striping and marking of our runway and taxiway. In 2020, a brand new, state-of-the-art, 1.6 million dollar 22,500 square foot hangar capable of accommodating the C-130 and other military aircrafts was built at the airport. RainAir Aviation has leased the new hangar in June of 2020 and is working to acquire government contracts to the property. The new hangar is just the latest upgrade added to the airport's 375 acres as part of its 10-year long range plan, which also includes more small hangars and eventually rerouting the Alabama Highway 75 to allow for more usable construction space. The runway lighting system consists of Pilot Control Lighting, Runway End Identifier (REIL) Lights and Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI) Lights. The airport also has an Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS), giving pilots the sky conditions, visibility, barometric pressure, wind conditions and density altitude of the airfield. Common traffic approach frequency is 123.0.Aerial Photo of new military aircraft hangar at Albertville Regional Airport
