Why?

The City of Albertville realizes the importance of retail development because we understand that additional shopping and dining options are vital to our economy as we strive to increase the City's sales tax base and enhance the quality of life for citizens and visitors.  Therefore, Economic Development staff welcomes the opportunity to discuss retail, dining, hospitality and entertainment options with clients, brokers or developers.  

Trade Area

Albertville is the largest municipality in the County and trade area which extends to a 20 mile radius and includes our sister cities of Boaz and Guntersville in addition to those communities in DeKalb, Etowah and Blount Counties that travel to Albertville for employment, health care, shopping or personal business.

Active Projects

The Shoppes of Albertville -  A Public Private Partnership, the City of Albertville and GBT Realty constructed a 100,000 sq. ft. shopping center on US Hwy 431 with stores opening the first quarter of 2016. Tenants include Hobby Lobby, TJMaxx, Ross Dress for Less, PetSmart, Hibbett Sports, Rack Room Shoes (update: ALL NOW OPEN.) Kay Jewelers coming soon and more to be announced. The CrossRoads Mall Annex - Local developer Jeff Beck is constructing a 96,000 sq. ft. shopping center on a site adjacent to The CrossRoads Mall, where a strip mall stood before being destroyed in a tornado on April, 24, 2010. Leases obtained to date include Dunham's Sports, Ollie's Bargain Outlet and VF Outlet with inline and outparcel space still available.   For information on remaining space, contact Melody at 256-279-0622 or email. (Update: NOW OPEN as of October 2016)

Additional Opportunities

Even with the current retail development that is occurring in Albertville, there are still areas of  retail leakage that would allow for additional growth.  Leakage reports prove that there is dire need for fast casual and full service dining options in addition to, specialty food and book stores to name a few.
