Chief Doug Pollard, has been a sworn member of the Albertville Police Department for 27 years.  Chief Pollard began working as a Patrol Officer for the APD in 1988, and graduated from the Northeast Alabama Police Academy in 1989.  He was promoted to Patrol Sergeant in 1993, Patrol Captain in 1999 and was appointed to Assistant Police Chief in 2001. He was appointed to Chief of Police in January, 2010. Chief Pollard has completed 240 hours of training in the Certified Law Enforcement Executive Program and received his 240 Hour Certification on August 6, 2015 at the Alabama Association of Chiefs of Police Summer Conference. He is among 138 Alabama chiefs that have earned this honor.

Chief Pollard is an Albertville native and is honored to serve his hometown. He and his wife Kim reside in Albertville and have four children.
