- The City of Albertville hosted its Annual Veterans Day Ceremony at the Veterans Memorial in Graham Park. Guest speaker was Vietnam Veteran and Purple Heart recipient Marston Clanton with JROTC presenting colors and music provided by the Snead State College Street Singers.

Mayor Lyons and Reba Cofield of Keep Albertville Beautiful presented the Residential Beautification Award to Mr. & Mrs. Whitten on East Alabama Avenue while the Beautification Achievement Award was presented to Aviagen Inc.
June 28th - Ground Breaking Ceremony at Graham Park, Keep Albertville Beautiful, the City of Albertville, Representative Kerry Rich, Senator Clay Scofield and the Albertville Rotary Club break ground on a new playground at Graham Park. June 27, 2012 - The Sons of Confederate Veterans saluted the memory of James Cicero Miller, first postmaster of Albertville, at the request of his great-great grandson William Miller of Virginia Beach, Virginia, on the 150th Anniversary of his death in the Battle of Gaines Mill in 1862. A wreath was presented by SCV member dressed in Civil War era uniforms followed by a rifle salute and cannon blast.
June 26th- Mayor Lyons and Jim Gentry, Chairman of Keep Albertville Beautiful presented the Commercial Beautification Award to Community Credit Union on Hwy 431 South. The Residential Beautification Award was presented to Mr. & Mrs. Simmons on Dan Avenue and the Beautification Achievement Award was presented to the new Race Way on Hwy 431.
May 25, 2012 - Mayor Lyons and Jim Gentry, Chairman of Keep Albertville Beautiful presented the Commercial Beautification Award the BP Station at the intersection of Hwy 431 & East Main Street. The Residential Beautification Award was presented to Mr. & Mrs. Coby on Walnut Street while the Beautification Achievement Award was presented Christ Episcopal Church on East Main Street.

Monday, Feb. 6, 2012 – Marshall Christian Academy was named national champions of the Keep America Beautiful Recycle-Bowl. They recycled an impressive 41 pounds of waste per person to earn the top spot. More than 1,200 schools in 47 states participated in the first nationwide K-12 recycling competition, recovering more than 2 million pounds of recyclables. November 15, 2011 - Keep Albertville Beautiful presented awards to students from Albertville Middle School, Albertville High School and Marshall Christian Academy at the Albertville-Boaz Recycling Center for their posters and tee-shirt design promoting recycling. Albertville City Schools and Marshall Christian Academy participated in the Keep America Beautiful Recycle Bowl and developed a contest to encourage students and faculty members at each school to participate in the recycling program. - The City of Albertville hosted a Veterans Ceremony and unveiled a Veterans Memorial in honor of past and current service members. Over 250 were in attendance for the dedication in Graham Park and there are currently 123 Veterans included in the memorial. To nominate a Veteran for inclusion in the memorial, submit an application
