City of Albertville Receives $450,000 Community Development Block Grant from State of Alabama
The City of Albertville has received a $450,000 Community Development Block Grant from the State of Alabama. Governor Kay Ivey and members of the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs presented the award to Mayor Tracy Honea and Elden Chumley, General Manager/CEO of MUB, last Thursday. This grant will assist MUB with the rehabiltation of our wastewater system. The areas included are Katherine Street and Meadowbrook Drive area, Pierce Street, and a small section of pipeline on Baltimore Avenue and Alabama Avenue. A cured-in-place-pipe (CIPP) liner will be installed into the existing clay wastewater mains. The CIPP liner seals against 1/1 and root intrusion and provides a continuous smooth interior liner. A portion of the wastewater main on Baltimore Avenue will require a conventional repair method of digging and replacement. We have great representation in Montgomery and it certainly shows. A huge THANKS to the Governor & ADECA for helping Albertville continue our progress.
