About Us

The Albertville Public Library offers books, CDs, and DVDs for loan to its patrons. The Children’s Section boasts more than 22,000 books with sections for Easy Readers, Junior Fiction (Chapter Books), Nonfiction, and Biographies. Hard copies of our local paper, The Sand Mountain Reporter, and The Albertville Herald dating back to the early 1900s are available. 

Rare Book Room

The Winston Walker, Jr. Rare Books Room houses a collection of first edition books, works written by Alabama authors, The Albertville High School Mountaineer Yearbooks, and a collection of Civil War books. Additionally, the Albertville Public Library offers online tools and resources.

Computers

Membership

The Albertville Public Library provides residents of Albertville and Marshall county (within 20 miles) with free membership to the library. If you are not a resident of Marshall County, you can get a library card for a one-time $10 fee. New card-holders may checkout up to three items on their first visit. Books may be checked out for up to two weeks, with a possible one two-week renewal allowed. 

There is a 10 cent overdue fine added each day that each book is overdue. The overdue fine for DVDs is $2 per day. Patrons can check out up to 25 books, 5 audiobooks, and 3 DVDs. There is no minimum age to get a library card.
